This is a hard to come by piece as most of them are in collector´s hands. Although this piece is not marked, it was made by Portieux/Vallerysthal, renowned glassmaker in France, as this item appears on their catalogue. This blue opaline bonbonniere features shell all around the lid and the knob is actually a large shell. The three feet feature sea serpents heads. This is a bonbon dish with a lid that could be used for sweets, jewellery or small treasures. It is a highly decorative item, made of thick opaline. The blue colour of this piece is gorgeous and the stylish and timeless design of this French opaline will fit any space adding a touch of charm from the past.
